Last night, indie rock fans were treated to an electrifying performance by Ratboys at Humphreys by the Bay. The Chicago-based band brought their signature blend of heartfelt lyrics, raw energy, and melodic soundscapes to life, captivating the audience from the first note to the final encore. Julia Steiner’s emotive vocals drew everyone in from get-go.
As the set progressed, Ratboys showcased their versatility, seamlessly shifting between upbeat rock anthems like “Elvis is in the Freezer” and more introspective tracks like “Go Outside.” The band’s chemistry was undeniable, with Steiner and guitarist Dave Sagan feeding off each other’s energy, their instruments weaving together in perfect harmony. The rhythm section, anchored by bassist Sean Neumann and drummer Marcus Nuccio, kept the momentum going, driving the music forward with precision and power.

The set ended on a high note with a rousing rendition of “It’s Alive”, which had the crowd dancing and cheering for more. Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to their music, catching Ratboys live is an experience not to be missed.
