The Decemberists’ performance at Humphreys Concerts by the Bay was an evening to remember. The setting couldn’t have been more perfect, with the beautiful marina as a backdrop and a cool breeze drifting through the venue. Colin Meloy’s storytelling and distinctive vocals, combined with the band’s rich, orchestral sound, created a magical atmosphere.

They played a mix of classics and newer tracks, with highlights like “Oh No!” and the Grammy-nominated “Down By the Water”. Meloy’s witty banter and the band’s playful energy made it feel like a communal experience. The intimate setting of Humphreys allowed for a closer connection, and you could feel the mutual appreciation between the band and the fans. If you ever get a chance to see The Decemberists live, especially at a venue as charming as Humphreys, don’t miss out!
